Common Thai phone scams

These are the most-reported caller fraud patterns in Thailand right now.

Call Centre Gang (แก๊งคอลเซ็นเตอร์) Scam
HIGH RISK

Organised call-centre gangs impersonate DSI officers, Revenue Department staff, or bank employees claiming you have an outstanding warrant or unpaid debt. They demand immediate wire transfers to avoid arrest. Thai authorities never demand payment by phone. Report to Anti Online Scam Operation Center (AOC) at 1441.

PromptPay / Mobile Banking OTP Theft
HIGH RISK

Callers pose as bank staff from Kasikorn, SCB, or Bangkok Bank claiming suspicious activity on your PromptPay. They request OTP codes to "verify" your account. No bank will ever call asking for OTPs. Hang up and call your bank's official hotline directly.

Fake Job Abroad / Work Permit Scam
MEDIUM RISK

Callers offer high-paying jobs overseas and request advance fees for visa processing or work permits. Verify all foreign employment offers through the Department of Employment (DOE) at doe.go.th. Paying recruitment fees in advance is a common indicator of trafficking-related fraud.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Accessing publicly available information about a phone number is lawful under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act 2019 (PDPA) and the Electronic Transactions Act. The NBTC regulates telecommunications. Searqle does not access private subscriber records held by licensed operators.
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) manages number allocation and operator licensing. AIS, DTAC (now merged with True Move H as DTAC-True), and National Telecom (NT) operate under NBTC licences.
Report scam calls to the Anti Online Scam Operation Center (AOC) at 1441. You can also report to NBTC at 1200 or submit a complaint at nbtc.go.th. For financial fraud, contact your bank immediately and file a police report at your nearest station.
New users can start with a 7-day trial for just €1.00 — giving full access to Searqle’s core search capabilities. After the trial, plans start at €13.90/week (includes 4 search credits) or €34.90/month (includes 20 search credits). All plans include phone, email, and photo search.
Searqle supports three search types: phone number lookup, email address lookup, and reverse image (photo) search. Each draws from public records, social profiles, and community data to build a comprehensive identity report.
A Searqle report compiles publicly accessible records for a phone number. You may find: the owner's name and age, profile photos, linked email addresses, residential history, known associates and relatives, employer information, social media presence, online activity signals, and data breach alerts — all in a single lookup.
