Common Azerbaijani phone scams

These are the most-reported caller fraud patterns in Azerbaijan right now.

State Tax Service Impersonation
HIGH RISK

Callers claim to be from the State Tax Service threatening penalties for undeclared income or VAT violations. They demand immediate payment via bank transfer or e-wallet. Azerbaijani tax authorities issue formal written notices and never demand instant phone payment.

ABB / Kapital Bank OTP Phishing
HIGH RISK

Fraudsters impersonate representatives from ABB (International Bank of Azerbaijan) or Kapital Bank claiming suspicious transactions. They request OTP codes to "secure" your account. No bank will call asking for OTPs. Hang up and call your bank's official number.

Fake Immigration / Residence Permit Fees
MEDIUM RISK

Callers offer to expedite residence permits or work visas for foreign workers in Azerbaijan, collecting advance fees. All official immigration services are handled by the State Migration Service (migasiya.gov.az). Never pay visa or permit fees to third parties over the phone.

Frequently asked questions

Accessing publicly available carrier allocation data and community reports about phone numbers is consistent with Azerbaijan's Personal Data Law 2010 and MINCOM regulations. Searqle does not access subscriber records held by licensed operators.
The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MINCOM) manages number allocation and operator licensing. Azercell, Bakcell, and Nar Mobile (Azerfon) are the three licensed mobile operators. AzTelecom provides the fixed-line infrastructure.
Report phone fraud to the Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. For financial fraud, contact your bank immediately and report to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan at cbar.az. MINCOM consumer complaints can be submitted at mincom.gov.az.
New users can start with a 7-day trial for just €1.00 — giving full access to Searqle’s core search capabilities. After the trial, plans start at €13.90/week (includes 4 search credits) or €34.90/month (includes 20 search credits). All plans include phone, email, and photo search.
Searqle supports three search types: phone number lookup, email address lookup, and reverse image (photo) search. Each draws from public records, social profiles, and community data to build a comprehensive identity report.
When you run a reverse lookup on Searqle, the report can surface: the registered owner's name, birth details, known aliases, profile images, connected email accounts, current and historical addresses, family or associate links, social media profiles, and data breach exposure — subject to what's in the public record.
